Things to Know Before Having Your Car Repaired

  • You have the right to go to the repair shop of your choice in the case of an insurance claim. The insurance company cannot force you to go to a particular shop.
  • There is no law requiring you to obtain more than one estimate or appraisal.
  • Let us help you negotiate your claim with the insurance company.
  • Never drive a car that could be unsafe due to damage.
  • Your car is likely the second largest investment you make. Preserve its value and your safety by having it repaired professionally.
  • Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all necessary work. If you are not sure why one estimate is different from another, please ask us and we will gladly explain.
  • Choose a collision repair center that has unibody repair equipment and certified technicians.
  • Ask if the repair center will be using genuine manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts.
  • Ask if the repair center offers a repair warranty.
  • Some insurance companies may want you to visit their drive-in claims center before having your car repaired. You can do this, but it is not required. You may leave the car at your preferred repair center and ask that the insurance company inspect the car there.
